Optimal flow control has become an active area of scientific and engineering research in the past decade. There has been substantial new developments in the modeling, analysis and computation of optimal and feedback control synthesis for fluid flows. These developments have the potential to impact a number of domestic and defense industries. In this minisymposium, the speakers will address new trends and recent advances in mathematical and computational methods in flow control. The speakers will discuss impulse control, optimal data assimilation, H-infinity, stochastic control, nonlinear model reduction and real-time computation.
