Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM)
SIAM co-sponsors the annual Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) in which teams of three undergraduates develop a mathematical model of two applied problems -- one continuous, one discrete.
Teams devote an entire weekend to the problems, the models, and their analyses, using computers and libraries.
Four SIAM judges select two SIAM teams to present their solutions in this session.
Organizer: Don Miller, St. Mary's College
- 8:00: Introduction to the Mathematical Contest in Modeling. Don Miller, Organizer
