Mathematical Modeling and Analysis of Problems in Industry

Mathematical problems are frequently encountered in industrial applications. Mathematical modeling and analysis often result in an improved understanding of the industrial processes involved. At the same time, industrial problems often require interesting and novel analytical and numerical techniques. The focus of the presentations in this minisymposium will be on the use of mathematics to advance the understanding of specific problems that arise in industry. The speakers include both academic and industrial representatives to bring a broad perspective to the discussions. Organizer: Donald W. Schwendeman Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
