Educating Applied Mathematicians in the 21st Century
The past four decades have spawned revolutionary advances in computer technology that have changed the face of higher education. Tools such as personal computers and graphic calculators enable students to find quickly numerical solutions to a wide variety of problems that taxed previous generations.
However great an impact the computer has had on the educational process, the changes to come promise to be even greater. In this minisymposium, the speakers will focus on the present and future impact of such recent developments as computer algebraic systems and interactive texts on mathematical education.
