Architectures for Scientific Computing

The fastest computers today operate at peak speeds of around 1 Tflop/s. Today's high speeds have been achieved by improved chip technology and by new computing architectures that support parallel computation. These new architectures are a challenge to the algorithm designer and the programmer because of their complexity and the fact that failure to take into account their special characteristics can result in a significant loss in speed.

Each of the speakers will offer a look into the future of their scalable systems. They will describe the evolving architectures and discuss why their companies have made the choices they have to respond to market demand.
