Travelling wave solutions play an important role in the theory of parabolic systems and they arise in numerous applications. Their stability is determined by the location of the spectrum of linearized problems and it is studied only for some particular classes of systems. The minisymposium is devoted to recent developments in this area. The speakers will discuss stability of travelling waves for reaction-diffusion systems in combustion theory and in biology. They will also discuss propagation of waves in a heterogeneous medium where usual travelling waves do not exist.
