Deadline Dates

Deadlines are midnight Eastern Time

Abstract submissions for proceedings: March 1, 2009
Full paper submissions for proceedings: March 16, 2009
Minisymposia: May 15, 2009
Contributed talks/posters: May 15, 2009

How to Participate

In ACM SPM tradition, the conference will include a track for submission of peer-reviewed technical papers for those wishing rigorous peer review and published proceedings. In addition, in the tradition of previous SIAM GD events, abstracts for minisymposia and contributed talks/posters are solicited. As a rule, no conference participant will be allowed to submit the same abstract to more than one track, nor to give more than one contributed or minisymposium talk.

Peer-reviewed Technical Papers for Published Proceedings

Proceedings papers should present previously unpublished, original results that are not simultaneously submitted elsewhere. All papers will be rigorously peer-reviewed by members of the international program committee. The submission should be formatted according to the style guidelines for ACM proceedings and not exceed 12 pages, including figures and references. You can download paper template files for LaTex and MS-Word at http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html.

Papers should be submitted using the website http://www.precisionconference.com/~gdspm.

Each accepted paper will appear in the conference proceedings published by ACM Press, and be presented in a talk of approximately 30 minutes.

Some submissions may be accepted for the conference proceedings as a short paper not exceeding 6 pages, and presented in a poster session.

The Solid Modeling Association will award a prize to the three best papers during the conference.

Selected papers of outstanding quality will be invited to be considered for publication in the journals Computer-Aided Design and IEEE Transactions on Vizualization and Computer Graphics after the conference.

Deadline for submission of abstracts of technical papers to be peer reviewed for published proceedings: March 1, 2009 (required to expedite the review process)

Deadline for submission of technical papers to be peer reviewed for published proceedings: March 16, 2009

Notification of acceptance by e-mail in late May 2009 (final versions are due July 1, 2009).

Minisymposia

A minisymposium can consist of four to six 25-minute presentations, with an additional five minutes for discussion after each presentation (click here for instructions on how to submit a six person minisymposium proposal).  Prospective minisymposium organizers are asked to submit a proposal consisting of a title, a description (not to exceed 100 words), and a list of speakers and titles of their presentations using the Conference Management System available at: http://meetings.siam.org/start.cfm?CONFCODE=gd09.

It is recommended that a minisymposium organizer make the first presentation. Each minisymposium speaker should submit a 75-word abstract. All proposals for minisymposia will be checked for relevance to the conference by the Program Chairs. The number of minisymposia may be limited to retain an acceptable level of parallelism in the conference sessions.

To ensure balance, SIAM prefers that a single individual not be the organizer of more than one minisymposium.  In addition, SIAM discourages minisymposia in which most of the speakers come from the same organization or if all co-authors on the papers being presented in a minisymposium are from the same organization.

Be certain to visit http://www.siam.org/meetings/guidelines/mini_guide.php to review Guidelines for Preparing a Minisymposium Proposal.

Deadline for submission of minisymposium proposals and speaker abstracts:  May 15, 2009

Notification of acceptance by e-mail in late June 2009.

Contributed Presentations in Lecture or Poster Format

Contributed presentations in lecture or poster format are invited in all areas consistent with the conference themes. A lecture format involves a 15-minute oral presentation with an additional 5 minutes for discussion. A poster format involves the use of non-electronic visual aids for mounting on a 4’ x 6’ or 4’ x 8’ poster board. A poster session is two hours long. Each contributor, either for a lecture or a poster, must submit a title and a brief abstract not to exceed 75 words. All abstracts for contributed presentations will be checked for relevance to the conference by the Program Chairs.  Please submit contributed presentations in lecture or poster format using the Conference Management System available at: http://meetings.siam.org/start.cfm?CONFCODE=gd09

Deadline for submission of contributed abstracts:  May 15, 2009

Notification of acceptance by e-mail in late June 2009.

Acceptance Notification

Authors of peer-reviewed technical papers will be notified by e-mail in late May 2009 (final versions are due July 1, 2009).

Authors of minisymposia and contributed papers will be notified by e-mail in late early July 2009.

Note on Pacific Graphics 2009

There is partial overlap between this conference and Pacific Graphics 2009. Realizing that there are shared members of our communities, and that some of them may be interested in submitting different contributions to the two conferences, the organizing committees have agreed to schedule such accepted contributions at the two events so that they can all be presented.
