SIAM is holding a block of rooms at the Philadelphia Marriott Hotel. These rooms are being held on a first-come, first-served basis at the following discounted rates:

DUE TO THE LIMITED NUMBER OF ROOMS AVAILABLE, (10 rooms at $126 single/$136 double) YOU MUST BE A STUDENT IN ORDER TO RESERVE THESE ROOMS. You will be required to show your student I.D. before checking in. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

All rooms will be held for SIAM's use until the start of the conference. After that, reservations will depend on availability. Your reservation is not confirmed until acknowledged in writing by the hotel or verified by phone. When making reservations by phone, be sure to identify yourself as an attendee of the SIAM 50^th Anniversary and 2002 Annual Meeting.

Please be aware SIAM's room block fills quickly, so we suggest you make your hotel and travel plans early. After SIAM's room block fills, reservations at the SIAM price will depend upon availability. Remember to get your confirmation number! Please be certain to mention that you are an attendee of the SIAM 50^th Anniversary and 2002 Annual Meeting being held at the hotel during the week of July 8 - 12, 2002. When making your reservation, remember that the Welcome Reception is scheduled for Sunday, July 7, immediately following the Short Courses and Career Development Workshops.

Deposit

The Philadelphia Marriott Hotel requires a deposit equivalent to one night's room rate to guarantee your reservation if payment is made via check or cash. However, if paying by credit card, the hotel requires only the credit card number to hold your room. The hotel will send out written confirmations upon request.

Cancellations

If you need to change or cancel your reservation, you must contact the hotel by 6:00 PM Eastern Time on the day of arrival. You can contact the hotel at 215-625-2900. Remember to get a cancellation number!

Check In and Check Out

To check-in at the Philadelphia Marriott Hotel, you should report to the Main Lobby of the hotel. Check-in time is 4:00 PM and check-out time is12:00 PM.

Parking

Parking with in-and-out privileges is available at the Philadelphia Marriott Hotel at the following rates:

2-8 hours	$18
8 hours+ (up to a 24 hour period)	$24

Additional discounted parking is located on Filbert Street, directly across from the hotel.

Hotel Room-Sharing List

A hotel room-sharing list is available for those who wish to share a room with another attendee at the Meeting to reduce expenses. If you are interested in finding a roommate, please fill in and submit the Hotel Room-Sharing List Form. SIAM can only give you the name of other interested attendees; it is up to you to make the arrangements.

Climate

The weather in Philadelphia during July varies widely. Average July temperature is in the high 80° F range. Please remember meeting room temperatures and personal comfort zones vary widely. It is recommended that you bring a sweater or jacket to the sessions.
