First Manchester SIAM Student Chapter Conference
February 25, 2010The Manchester SIAM Student Chapter is sponsoring its first conference on Monday, April 26, 2010, at the University of Manchester, Manchester, UK.
This will be a one-day conference with talks by students, faculty members, and an industrial talk. This is an excellent opportunity for students/postgrads at the University of Manchester to give a talk about their work in applied and industrial mathematics and network with others working in applied maths.
The following plenary speakers have been confirmed:
- Prof. Sven Hammarling (NAG, The Numerical Algorithms Group)
- Prof. Bill Lionheart (School of Mathematics, University of Manchester)
- Dr. Oliver Dorn (School of Mathematics, University of Manchester
The conference is free to attend although places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. It is aimed at those working or interested in applied maths and its applications, including both staff and students (undergraduate and postgrad).
