Continuous Process Scheduling: Where Theory Meets Practice
The speaker will discuss the application of optimization and combinatorial
techniques to scheduling problems in continous process industries. Successful implementation of the methodology and algorithms has been carried out in both a medium sized steel company and a small paper manufacturing company. The speaker will also discuss several mathematically interesting and practically important open problems that have been raised by this work.
