Innovative Education for Computer Scientists, Applied Mathematicians, and Engineers

Revolutionary advances in computer technology continue to change the face of higher education. Hardware and software tools such as personal computers, graphic calculators, computer algebraic systems, and graphical packages enable the presentation and solution of problems in a classroom setting that would have been inconceivable even a generation ago. The speakers in this minisymposium will discuss their efforts to incorporate these technical advances into the educational training of scientists, mathematicians, and engineers. In particular, they will focus on how individual courses are being restructured and entire curricula redesigned. Concurrently, they will discuss educating (and reeducating) educators in the application of these tools in workshops and seminars.
