The DOD: Research Interests in Inverse Problems

Inverse problems arise in many areas of applications such as ocean science, seismology, material science, radar, sonar and medical imaging. In this minisymposium, the speakers, who are researchers in U.S. Government Laboratories, will discuss current problems of interest to the DOD. Some of the areas to be discussed include the identification of materials in the shallow water seabottom, the identification of anomalies within the human body, and the identification of the position and speed of moving objects.
