SIAM Award in the Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM)
SIAM co-sponsors the annual Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) in which teams of three undergraduates develop a mathematical model of two applied problems _ one continuous, one discrete. The teams devote an entire weekend to the problems, the models, and their analyses, using computers and libraries. The SIAM award is presented to two of the teams judged "outstanding" in the competition, one for each problem.
Their solutions will be presented in this session.
The award-winning teams are to be announced.
