Dormitory Information


The Johns Hopkins University (McCoy Hall)

SIAM is holding a block of dormitory rooms at the Johns Hopkins University. These rooms are being held on a first come, first served basis at $38.25 per night for a single room, and $30.50 per person, per night for a double room. These rooms will be held for our exclusive use only until Wednesday, May 15, 1996.

The dormitory rooms are convenient, air-conditioned suites with adjoining baths and kitchenettes. All suites share a living room, TV/VCR in a modern, elevator-equipped McCoy Hall which also has a game room and exercise room. The suites include kitchenettes with an electric cooktop, a small refrigerator, and a sink.

You can make your reservations by one of the following ways:

Athletic Center:

As part of the conference summer program, you are entitled to use the Athletic Center's indoor pool. The facilities are available only at specific times which you will be advised about on arrival. There is a $2 fee each time you use the facility. The fee is paid directly to the Athletic Center. Tennis and basketball courts are located on the campus and are free of charge.

Check-In:

Check-in time is normally after 2:00 p.m. in the lobby of Wolman Hall. Wolman Hall is located directly across the street from McCoy Hall. The university staff will be on hand with building information materials, keys and access cards , as well as parking passes. Early or late check-ins will be accommodated provided you will indicate this on your reservation card.

Check out by noon.

Attendees can leave anytime before noon by returning their key and access card to the Conference Service Office located at Wolman Hall. Failure to return the access card or key will result in a charge to you in the amount of $15 for the access card and $25 for the key.

Dining:

The university is offering to attendees meal tickets which can be purchased at a cost of $11.10 per day through SIAM when registering. One meal ticket will entitle you to full breakfast and lunch at Wolman Hall's dining room. Meal tickets will be available from Monday through Thursday of the conference. For those of you arriving early, or departing after the conference, there are many dining venues within walking distance of the university. If you are interested in obtaining meal tickets, you should preregister for them when you fill-in the Dormitory Reservation Form; on-site tickets are limited and cannot be guaranteed.
