Numerical Aspects and Applications of Soliton Equations

The Nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) and related soliton equations arise in the description of many physical phenomena. In this minisymposium, the speakers will discuss recent results on blow-up solutions and turbulent behavior in higher dimensional NLS and applications in optics such as dispersion managed solitons. They will discuss symplectic integrators for solving discrete soliton systems and software that allows for the explicit implementation of quasiperiodic solutions of integrable equations.
