Reservations
SIAM is holding a block of rooms at Le Meridien Hotel. These rooms are being held on a first come, first served basis at $95.00 single or double occupancy. These rooms will be held for our exclusive use until Friday, December 13, 1996 only. Reservations made after December 13 will depend on availability.
We urge you to make your reservations immediately. Please fax or mail the Hotel Reservation Form directly to the Le Meridien Hotel. You may also make your reservation by phone. Please be certain to identify yourself as an attendee of the SIAM Symposium on Discrete Algorithms to receive the discounted rate.
Hotel Room-Sharing List
A Hotel Room-Sharing List is available for those who wish to share a room with another attendee at the conference to cut down on expenses.
Location:
Le Meridien Hotel is located in the central business district adjacent to the French Quarter and Canal Street where a variety of shops abound. It is an easy walk to the New Orleans Superdome and St. Charles Avenue featuring the New Orleans Casino and various Mississippi River attractions.
Deposit:
Le Meridien requires a deposit equivalent to one night's room rate to guarantee your reservation. The hotel accepts AMEX, MC, Visa, Diner's Club, or check as a form of payment.
Arrivals and Departures:
Check-in time is 3:00 PM and check-out time is 12:00 Noon.
Cancellations:
If you need to change or cancel your reservation, you must contact the hotel by 4:00 PM central time, 72 hours prior to your scheduled arrival to receive a refund of your one night's deposit.
Dining:
Le Meridien has La Gauloise, a bistro type restaurant, and for entertainment has the Louis Armstrong Foundation Jazz Club, a lobby bar.
Recreational Facilities:
The hotel has a fully equipped fitness center, a heated outdoor swimming pool, sauna, locker rooms, massage clinic, aerobic room, and VCR aerobic classes. The hotel provides complimentary workout clothes to its guests. Golf, tennis, deep sea fishing, horseback riding, swamp tours, city tours, plantation tours, and paddle-wheel steamboat cruises are available. Prior arrangements should be made through the hotel concierge.
Parking:
Valet parking is available in the hotel garage at a cost of $14.00 for 24 hours, with unlimited in and out privileges. Attendees not staying in the hotel can park at a cost of $11.50 for 3-12 hours. The garage is located on Common Street, which is one block off of Canal Street.
