The hotel's meeting and sleeping rooms will be newly renovated for our August 2000 conference. The hotel swimming pool will still be getting a facelift, but arrangements have been made for SIAM attendees and their guests to use the pool at the Westin Maui, a neighboring resort. Despite the unavailability of the Marriott swimming pool, you will find several ways to unwind after a hectic day of technical sessions. You may relax by playing a round of golf, picnicking on the beach, becoming lost in the beauty of a sunset cruise, or simply by sitting and enjoying the sweeping views of the West Maui Mountains or the inviting, blue Pacific ocean. For additional information, visit and search for the Maui Marriott Resort.

SIAM is holding a block of rooms at this beautiful resort from August 5 - 16, 2000, thus allowing you extra days before and after the conference to enjoy the island of Maui. These rooms are being held on a first-come, first-served basis at the discounted rate of $94. There is a 11.5% local occupancy tax and $1.00 per day housekeeping charge, bringing your room total to $105.81 per day. There is a one time charge of $5.21 per person portage fee.

The reservation deadline is Friday, June 30, 2000. Reservations made after June 30 will depend on availability and the above rates may not be in effect.

We urge you to make your reservations immediately. We expect a large turnout for this meeting and you do not want to miss getting a room in the SIAM block. You may do so by calling Maui Marriott Resort, reservation office at 1-800-763-1333 or mailing or faxing the hotel reservation form.
