SIAM is holding a block of rooms at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort. These rooms are being held on a first-come first-served basis at the following discounted rates:

There is a 9.85% occupancy tax that will be added to your room rate.

These rooms will be held for our exclusive use until April 18, 2001 only. Please be aware that SIAM�s room block fills quickly, so we suggest that you make your hotel and travel plans early. Reservations made after April 18, 2001 will depend on availability and the above rates may not be in effect.

We urge you to make your reservations immediately. We expect a large turnout for this meeting and you do not want to miss getting a room in the SIAM block. When making your reservation by phone, be certain to identify yourself as an attendee of the May 20 - 24, 2001 SIAM Conference on Applications of Dynamical Systems to receive the discounted rate. Remember to get your confirmation number!

DUE TO THE LIMITED NUMBER OF ROOMS AVAILABLE, YOU MUST BE A STUDENT IN ORDER TO RESERVE THESE ROOMS. Rooms are located in the Cliff Lodge and there are 5 rooms available with 4 people per room. These are non-smoking rooms. There is a private bathroom in each room. Common areas located at the end of the halls are equipped with televisions and pool tables. When registering for a room, please be sure to mention your gender. You will be asked to show your student I.D. before checking into rooms. Rooms are on a first-come first-served basis.

Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort requires a deposit equivalent to one night's room rate to guarantee your reservation. The resort accepts AMEX, MC, VISA, or check as a form of payment. The resort will send out written confirmations.

If you need to change or cancel your reservation, you must contact the hotel by 3:00 PM Mountain Time, 48 hours prior to your scheduled arrival to receive a refund of your one night's deposit.

To check in at Snowbird, you should report to the Cliff Lodge, where the technical sessions will be held. Check in time is 4:00 PM and checkout time is 11:00 AM.

There is complimentary valet parking available at the Cliff Lodge.

A hotel room-sharing list is available for those who wish to share a room with another attendee at the conference to reduce expenses. If you are interested in finding a roommate, please fill in and submit the Hotel Room-Sharing List Form. SIAM can only give you the name of other interested attendees; it is up to you to make the arrangements.

Snowbird is 7,900 feet above sea level and the mountain summits rise almost 3,000 feet higher. You will probably notice that your breathing is faster or deeper and you may feel short of breath, especially when you exercise. This is the body�s first and most effective response to the higher altitude. Your heart may beat faster also this too is a normal reaction. These symptoms usually go away in a day or two. To help your body acclimate it is suggested that you drink more water and take it easy for the first day or two.

SIAM cannot offer e-mail access for individual attendees. We suggest you bring your own laptop computer and use the telephone line in your room. If you do not have your own personal laptop computer, the hotel business office offers this service at a nominal fee.

As a service to SIAM members, we are providing a link to the Web site address for the city in which the meeting will be held. The URL for local tourist information is http://www.saltlake.org. This will allow you to learn about the city before you arrive.
