Instructions for Contributors

The Following paragraphs provide preparation and submission instructions for the on-line proceedings of the SIAM International Conference on Applied Linear Algebra.

Deadline for submission is April 28, 2003. Papers submitted after that date will not appear in the proceedings.

Preparing Your Paper

We would like to encourage you to prepare your paper in LaTeX. The macros are available from the SIAM website.

No chapter numbers, running heads, or page numbers should be included in your file.

Page Limit: Papers should have a maximum of 10 pages not counting references, but including tables and figures.

Check your paper carefully for typos and send only the final version. If the title of your paper has changed since you submitted your abstract, please let us know via the provided email contact. If you add or drop an author, we also need this information.

We will only accept papers in Acrobat PDF file format.

Please do not subset any fonts.

File Names

Please use the 8.3 file naming convention normally associated with DOS applications, regardless of the platform you are using to prepare your paper. The use of longer file names will cause problems with truncation and file identification. We recommend using the first seven characters of the first author's last name and the first character of the first author's first name as the eighth character with the appropriate extension.

Submitting Your Paper

The file(s) for your paper should be sent by ftp to ftp.siam.org. The files should be placed in the /pub/incoming/conferences/linearalgebra .

Files sent to other FTP directories or e-mailed to SIAM will not be accepted.

To speed transmission of files, please use one of the compression programs listed below:

Unix - tar, gzip
IBM compatible - pkzip
Macintosh - stuffit, sea, hqx

Although compressing your file is not a strict requirement, please be aware that our ftp server will not accept incoming files that are larger than 4 megabytes.

You will not be able to view the contents of the directory. If you require ackowledgment that your paper has been received, please send e-mail to [email protected].

Copyright Release

A signed copyright release must be submitted for your paper. A PDF version of the copyright release is available at the SIAM website. We cannot publish your paper without it.

Deadline

Your copyright release form is due at the SIAM office by April 28, 2003. The PDF file of your paper must be submitted to the FTP server by April 28, 2003, or it will not appear in the online proceedings.

• Your signed copyright release form is required.
• Follow the specified format. No running heads or chapter numbers are to be used.
