MS12 Numerical Solution of Optimal Control Problems (Invited Minisymposium)

Optimal control problems occur in several areas of engineering and economics. Their numerical solution is complicated by problems like boundary value problems with partial differential equations, nonsmooth solutions of differential equations due to state constraints or design of optimal controllers. The size and the complexity of these problems require special optimization algorithms. This is the main topic that all speakers will address.
