This minisymposium will focus on applications of optimization to hard problems in science and industry. The speakers will discuss genetic algorithms, simulated annhealing, neural networks, implicit filtering, stochastic/perturbation methods, and their applications to chemistry, finance, structural optimization, and stock car racing.
