Blowup Solutions for Nonlinear Volterra Integral Equations
Nonlinear Volterra integral equations arise in the analysis of certain
models of diffusive media where the solutions can exhibit explosive
behavior. In this session, speakers will identify conditions for achieving
and controlling blowup, discuss the growth rate behavior of such solutions
and indicate connections between this developing theory and that for
nonlinear parabolic pde's. Solution techniques suitable for nonlinear
integral operators are derived from functional, numerical and asymptotic
analytic methods. The speakers will present recent results and open
problems for coupled systems, integro-differential equations and problems
involving both local and nonlocal nonlinearities.
