Ground Transportation

Shuttle/Taxi

Airport Express Aeroport runs regular service between the Lester B. Pearson International Airport (PIA) and downtown Toronto. Approximate fare is $12.50 CDN one way or $21.50 CDN round trip. If you arrive at Terminal One, go to Post #10. If you arrive at Terminal Two, go to Post #6. Look for the grey bus with mauve and purple slashes. Taxis are also available at the airport for approximately $35.00 CDN one way. If you come into terminal three, walk to terminal two and follow above directions.

Rental Cars

Many major car rental companies have offices inside the airport terminal. You can make your arrangements when you arrive at the airport through Uniglobe Wings Travel or your own travel agent. Driving

Whether approaching Toronto by car or bus, you will reach Toronto by one of several major routes parallel to the shore of Lake Ontario. Highways 401 and 2 as well as the Queen Elizabeth Way enter Toronto from the west. Highways 401 and 2 also enter Toronto from the east. Highway 400 runs from the north and connects with Highway 401. Major bus routes converge in Toronto. Out-of-town buses arrive and depart from the bus terminal located downtown at 610 Bay Street.

By Rail

Toronto is served by the VIA rail system, the network that provides all rail service throughout Canada (with connections to the Amtrak system through Niagara Falls, New York). Union Station is located on Front Street, between Bay Street and University Avenue. The train station is right on Toronto's subway line. SIAM's official hotels and the University dormitory rooms are located very near subway stops. The Grand Bay Hotel (formerly know as the Park Plaza Hotel) is located on Bloor Street, stop #26; the Quality Hotel Midtown is located on Bloor Street, stop #28 with the Inter-Continental Toronto Hotel located between the two. The University of Toronto subway stop is #39 on Spadina Avenue. The dormitories are located in New College on Willcocks Street between Huron Street (one block from Spadina Avenue) and St. George Street.
