SIAM is holding a block of rooms at the Sheraton Old Town Hotel. These rooms are being held on a first-come first-served basis at $85.00 single and $85.00 double. These rooms will be held for our exclusive use until May 27, 1997 only. Reservations made after May 27 will depend on availability.
We urge you to make your reservations immediately. You may do so by calling the Sheraton Old Town Hotel, faxing your reservation, or mailing in the Hotel Reservation Form directly to the hotel. When making your reservation by phone, please be certain to identify yourself as an attendee of the Fourth SIAM Conference on Mathematical and Computational Issues in the Geosciences to receive the discounted rate.
The Sheraton Old Town Hotel is located in historic Old Town Albuquerque. The hotel is within walking distance to about 200 specialty shops, restaurants, galleries, and three excellent museums--the Albuquerque Museum, the New Mexico Museum of Natural History, and the Albuquerque Children's Museum. The Sheraton Old Town Hotel requires a deposit equivalent to one night's room rate to guarantee your reservation. The hotel accepts AMEX, MC, Visa, or check as a form of payment. The hotel will send out written confirmations.
Check-in time is 4:00 PM and check-out time is 12:00 noon.
If you need to change or cancel your reservation, you must contact the hotel by 4:00 PM mountain time, 42 hours prior to your scheduled arrival to receive a refund of your one night's deposit.
The Sheraton Old Town Hotel has three fine restaurants - - Cafe Del Sol, serving southwestern and home style favorites; Customs House, featuring the finest in steaks, seafood, and a tantalizing assortment of specialty dishes; and the Taverna Lounge which features a happy hour buffet and a big screen TV.
The hotel has a fully equipped fitness center that is complimentary to hotel guests.
The Sheraton Old Town Hotel will provide complimentary parking to SIAM Geosciences attendees during the conference.
SIAM cannot offer e-mail access for individual attendees. We suggest you bring your own laptop computer and use hotel facilities. If you do not have your own personal laptop computer, the hotel business office offers this service at a nominal fee.
Albuquerque has a warm climate with average temperature of 80 degrees. Light-weight clothing with a light coat will be most comfortable for the desert night air. Remember to bring a sweater in case the air conditioning is too cool in the meeting rooms. Average temperature during the first week in June is in the low to mid 80s.
