Designing, Implementing and Proving a Business Based on CAGD
In 1986, Evans & Sutherland Computer Corporation with support
from Ford Motor Company and the Chrysler Corporation began
development of a new design system to support conceptual design
of complex products with complex surfaces. In 1995, after two
profitable years, the business was sold to Parametric Technology
Corporation for $34.5 million. The speaker will review the
history of the business over that period, the role current
research played in product development and business strategy
during those nine years, and general business modeling for high
technology endeavors.
