Minisymposium Title: Mathematical Crystallography I. Tilings, Packings, Graphs, and Other Discrete Models
Minisymposium Description: Tilings and graphs are among the many discrete models of crystals, quasicrystals, and other highly ordered structures. The model consists of many components of a few types designed to capture the physical and chemical constraints of the molecular building blocks of which the modeled crystal is composed. These models may be used in analyzing extant crystals and in crystal structure prediction and design.
