Inverse Problems in Nondestructive Evaluation

This minisymposium addresses mathematical inverse problems that arise in nondestructive evaluation. The speakers will focus on the areas of electrical impedance and thermal imaging. The former holds particular promise in medical imaging; the latter offers promise in damage assessment in material structures and in industrial quality control. The speakers will focus on recent developments in reconstruction algorithms. The stability of these algorithms is of particular importance, due to the ill-posedness of the inverse problems which arise from the mathematical models of the relevant physical systems.
