How to Participate
SIAM requests that individuals limit themselves to giving one talk. (This does not apply to invited plenary speakers). The co-chairs of the organizing committee may make exceptions to this request.
You are invited to contribute a presentation for this conference in one of the following formats.
Minisymposia
A minisymposium generally consists of six 15-minute presentations, with an additional five minutes for discussion after each presentation. Prospective minisymposium organizers are asked to submit a proposal consisting of a title, a description (not to exceed 100 words), and a list of speakers and titles of their presentations using the Conference Management System available at: http://meetings.siam.org/start.cfm?CONFCODE=gs15.
An minisymposium organizer may submit up to two minisymposium sessions but are strongly encourage to only submit proposal for a single session, and any organizers asking for two, may be asked to reduce the number of speakers or coordinate with other minisymposia that might be overlapping or closely related. The GS15 Organizers also wish to encourage minisymposium organizers to leave two of the six slots open so that they can be filled by contributed talks on related topics.
It is recommended that a minisymposium organizer make the first presentation. Each minisymposium speaker should submit a 75-word abstract. The organizing committee will referee minisymposium proposals. The number of minisymposia may be limited to retain an acceptable level of parallelism in the conference sessions.
To ensure balance, SIAM prefers that a single individual not be the organizer of more than one minisymposium. In addition, SIAM discourages minisymposia in which most of the speakers or co-authors come from the same institution.Be certain to visit http://www.siam.org/meetings/guidelines/mini_guide.php to review Guidelines for Preparing a Minisymposium Proposal.
Deadline for submission of minisymposium proposals December 11, 2014 : Extended to January 5, 2015
Deadline for submission of minisymposium speaker abstracts: January 15, 2015
