Ground Transportation
Public Transportation from Airport
Taxis are available at the airport for transportation to the hotel; fares are estimated at $45, including 15% tip. Supposedly there is a flat rate of $32 from downtown to the airport, but this is not widely known to locals; it only applies to the trip to the airport. Boss Limousine, a locally recommended limousine service, has agreed to coordinate shared limo service to and from the airport, with a fixed price of $45, including tip, for up to four travelers. Call Gary at 206-605-0496 to have them meet your flight; mention “SIAM Applied Math” to get the special fixed rate.
The cheapest way is by public transit. Link Light Rail runs from Seatac Airport to downtown, with one way fares of $2.50 - see the e attached detailed directions [PDF, 171KB].
Please visit the Grand Hyatt Seattle web site, http://grandseattle.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp, and click on “Local Attractions” and “Map & Directions” to find local directions. SIAM also suggests you contact the hotel directly for any information about sharing transportation.
By Train
Amtrak has a rail station in Seattle. To make train reservations
through Amtrak, call (800) USA-RAIL, go to http://www.amtrak.com or contact Uniglobe Wings Travel. Taxis are available
at the train station for transportation to the hotel.
Rental Cars
Many major car rental companies have offices inside the
airport terminal. You can make your arrangements when you arrive at
the airport or you can make them through Uniglobe Wings Travel or your
own travel agent. Uniglobe Wings Travel can make your car rental reservations
at the same time you make your flight reservations. See information
above regarding how to reach Uniglobe Wings Travel.
Driving Directions
If renting a car, please obtain a map and directions
from your rental car company. Another option is to visit Mapquest, or another similar web site. SIAM highly recommends you contact the hotel directly at +1-305-374-0000 or visit their web site for driving directions.
