The student’s advisor should submit a letter of recommendation, confirming that the student is a candidate in good standing and commenting on the strengths and potential contributions of the student. Furthermore, the letter should indicate how the student will benefit from attending SDM 2007, and the how the technical program suits the student’s research area.
Applications should be filed by electronic submission to Professor Jaideep Srivastava by March 16th, 2007. Although applicants who have an accepted paper at SDM 2007 will be given preference, acceptance of a paper is not a necessary condition for the award.
