Congressman Jerry McNerney Speaking at SIAM Sponsored Minisymposium

If you are concerned about the State of the Planet and are attending the Joint Mathematics Meetings in San Diego, January 6th-9th, 2008, there will be an unprecedented 4-day program on mathematical challenges in climate change sponsored by SIAM. The program includes a four part sequence of minisymposia during which California Congressman Jerry McNerney will give a 15 minute talk. This will take place at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 8 during the session titled From Global Predictions to Local Action, IV. Dr. McNerney has a PhD in mathematics and a career in alternative energy engineering.

The sessions are organized by Inez Fung, Co-Director, Berkeley Institute of the Environment; Chris Jones, Guthridge Distinguished Professor of Mathematics, U.N.C. Chapel Hill; and Mary Lou Zeeman, R. Wells Johnson Professor of Mathematics, Bowdoin College
