NAS Solicits Nominations for Award in Numerical Methods

The National Academy of Sciences is soliciting nominations for the 2010 NAS Award for Initiatives in Research.

The NAS Award for Initiatives in Research is given to recognize innovative young scientists (preferably 35 years old or younger) who are citizens of the United States, and to encourage research likely to lead toward new capabilities for human benefit. The field of presentation rotates among the physical sciences, engineering, and mathematics. The award is scheduled for presentation in 2010 in the area of numerical methods and is presented with a prize of $15,000.
