Nominations for the Class of 2010 open Sept 1

Do you have a colleague who has made a distinguished contribution to the disciplines of applied mathematics and computational science? Can you think of two? Nominate one or both to be considered for the SIAM Fellows Class of 2010.

The SIAM Fellows program honors exceptionally talented people in the community and makes their accomplishments visible to a wider audience. Fellowship is an honorific designation conferred on members distinguished for their outstanding contributions to the fields of applied mathematics and computational science.

As many as 35 members of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) will be selected for this honor in 2010. Support your profession and your colleagues by helping SIAM identify those members who have made the most significant contributions to the mathematical sciences.

Criteria for selection as a SIAM Fellow includes research excellence; excellence in industrial work (that may or may not involve traditional research); excellence in educational activities that reach a broad audience; or other forms of excellence directly related to the goals of SIAM.

Complete nomination procedures and information is available at http://fellows.siam.org/information. Beginning Tuesday, September 1, 2009, you can submit up to two nominations at http://fellows.siam.org/nominate. Only those nominations completed by Monday, November 2, 2009 will be considered for 2010 Fellowships.
