2009 Election Results are in!

The votes from the 2009 SIAM election have been tallied, and the following members have been elected:

• President - Lloyd (Nick) Trefethen
• Vice President - Nicholas Higham
• Secretary - Pamela Cook
• Board - Marsha Berger, Lisa Fauci, and Alfio Quarteroni
• Council - Irene Fonseca, Tim Davis, Lawrence Craig Evans, and Carol Woodward

The election of Nicholas Higham to Vice President at Large, resulted in his resigning his seat on the Board of Trustees, thus creating a vacancy. The Board at its December meeting elected Robert Schreiber to fill the remaining two years of Higham's term.

In addition, one of the two appointed positions on the Board of Trustees becomes vacant on January 1. The Board of Trustees voted to appoint Brenda Dietrich, who received the fourth most votes in the Board election, to fill that vacancy.
