Sastry Pantula to Become Next Head of NSF/DMS

Sastry Pantula was named as the next head of the Division of Mathematical Sciences (DMS) at the US National Science Foundation (NSF) in a May 14, 2010 memorandum from the Acting Assistant Director for Mathematical and Physical Sciences at NSF, Edward Seidel.

Pantula is expected to take over the leadership of NSF/DMS from Peter March some time in September 2010.

Pantula is currently a professor and head of the statistics department at North Carolina State University. He is also the current President of the American Statistical Association (ASA).
