BMSA Looks Ahead to 2025

September 1, 2010

The Board on Mathematical Sciences and its Applications (BMSA) has initiated a study, under funding from the US National Science Foundation (NSF), to look ahead at promising directions and opportunities for research in the mathematical sciences in the next 15 years.

The BMSA will kick off this study with an initial workshop on September 20-21, 2010.

The study will be led by a committee chaired by Thomas E. Everhart, President Emeritus of the California Institute of Technology. A complete list of the committee membership can be found on the National Academy of Sciences web page.

The BMSA is chaired by David Levermore and its mission is "to improve the quality of analysis used in government decision-making and to help maintain a vibrant mathematical sciences research enterprise."
