Call for Nominations: SIAM/ACM Prize in Computational Science and Engineering

The SIAM/ACM Prize in Computational Science and Engineering will be awarded at the SIAM Conference on Computational Science and Engineering (CSE07) to be held February 19-23, 2007, in Palm Springs, California.

The prize was established in 2002 and first awarded in 2003. It is awarded every other year by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) in the area of computational science in recognition of outstanding contributions to the development and use of mathematical and computational tools and methods for the solution of science and engineering problems.

Eligibility

The prize is intended to recognize either one individual or a group of individuals for outstanding research contributions to the field of computational science and engineering. The contribution(s) for which the award is made must be publicly available and may belong to any aspect of computational science in its broadest sense.

Description of the prize

The award will include a total cash prize of $5,000 and a certificate containing the citation. SIAM will reimburse reasonable travel expenses to attend the award ceremony.
