NSF Names Chan AD for Math and Physical Sciences

The National Science Foundation announced that Tony Chan will be the next Associate Director for Mathematics and Physical Sciences. Chan will oversee the NSF programs in the mathematical sciences, physics, astronomy, materials science, and chemistry. Chan's interest and activity in multidiscplinary research extends across many of these fields.

Chan is an elected member of the SIAM Board of Trustees and has been an active participant on SIAM's Committee on Science Policy.
