CISE Chooses CRA to Lead Consortium
September 19, 2006
NSF's Directorate for Computer and Information Science solicited proposals for a Computing Community Consortium (CCC).
On Septermber 18, 2006 the NSF announced that the Computing Research Association (CRA) had been chosen, under a 3-year $6 million grant, to lead the effort to create the CCC.
The CCC will identify major research opportunities and "grand challenges" for the field. One of the first projects the CCC will tackle is NSF's Global Environmental for Networking Innovations, or GENI.
CRA issued a press release on this announcement and it may be found at http://www.cra.org/govaffairs/blog/archives/000526.html.
