Obituaries: Thomas Liverman

Thomas Liverman of Amisville, Virginia, died on January 13, 2000. He had been a professor of mathematics at Georgetown University for 33 years. His specialty was generalized functions, and he is the author of a widely read book in the area. Liverman joined SIAM in 1958 and remained a member up to the time of his death.---Hugo Junghenn, George Washington University.
