Fractional Diffusion: Analytic, Geometric and Probabilistic Properties

After recalling various classical analytic and geometric properties of the heat semigroup corresponding to Brownian motion, we will explore similar questions for stable processes and relativistic Brownian motion (fractional diffusions). These processes are of interest in many settings arising both in pure and applied mathematics. Despite the fact that these processes have been very well studied for many years, many basic questions remain open.
