Your support in staying at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis helps keep the conference costs down, which directly affects your registration fees. SIAM guarantees the hotel that we will fill a certain number of “room nights” (rooms per night) during the conference. SIAM incurs penalties if too many attendees opt to stay in other hotels in the area or neglect to indicate to the hotel that they are with the SIAM conference. At this time, conference costs do not include meeting room rental. If SIAM fails to fill the contracted room block, SIAM is then charged the cost for the meeting rooms on a daily basis, along with a hefty penalty. Future registration fees could increase to cover these additional risks.
Reservations
SIAM is holding a block of rooms at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis. These rooms are being held on a first-come, first-served basis at the following discounted rates. Please be aware the room block fills quickly, so we suggest you make your hotel and travel plans early.
The group rate is guaranteed until the cutoff date unless the block fills prior to that. If there are rooms available after the cutoff date, they will be available at the best rate offered at that time.Reservation Deadline – May 16, 2014 (or until the room block is filled)
Single/Double $179.00 per night plus 13.4% taxx
Student rate $159.00 per night plus 13.4% tax
(Student ID must be presented upon check-in. SIAM is able to negotiate only a limited number of special student rate rooms. Please book early as these rooms sell out quickly!)All rooms based on availability.
All rates are subject to state and local occupancy taxes.
In the event that you find a lower room rate, please make the reservation at the lower rate and notify SIAM immediately ([email protected]). By doing this you will receive the lower rate and be counted towards the SIAM room block.
Reservations are not confirmed until acknowledged in writing by the hotel or verified by phone. Be sure to get a confirmation number from the hotel and be prepared to provide that number to the front desk clerk upon check-in at the hotel. If hotel reservations are requested by facsimile and written confirmation is not received within two weeks of sending the facsimile, please contact the hotel immediately to verify that the reservation request was received and processed. Be sure to get a confirmation number.
When making reservations, be sure to identify yourself as an attendee of the SIAM Conference on Discrete Mathematics. You may also make your reservation via fax at +1 612 596 4639 or mail the Hotel Reservation Form directly to the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis.
Do not make your reservation online through the hotel web site, as this will not allow you to retain the SIAM group rate. Remember to get your confirmation number!
SIAM attendees booked within the SIAM room block will have complimentary wireless internet access in their guest rooms. Complimentary wireless internet access in the hotel lobby will also be available. Additionally, complimentary wireless internet access will be available in the conference meeting space. This service is being provided at no additional cost to attendees.
SIAM will also provide a limited number of email stations for attendees during registration hours.
Welcome Reception
When making your reservation, remember that the Welcome Reception is scheduled for June 16, 2014. This is an excellent networking opportunity!
Deposit
The Hyatt Regency Minneapolis requires a credit card to confirm and guarantee your reservation. The hotel will send out e-mail confirmations upon request.
Cancellations
If you need to change or cancel your reservation, you must contact Hyatt reservations or go online prior to 72 hours before your scheduled arrival date. You can contact the hotel at +1-800-633-7313 (USA and Canada) or +1-612-370-1234. You can do so by going online to https://resweb.passkey.com/go/SIAMDM14Attendee or https://resweb.passkey.com/go/SIAMDM14Student and enter your confirmation number and name; or by calling +1 800 233 1234. Remember to get a cancellation number!
