Ground Transportation

AGGREGATION
There are 3 baggage claims at RDU airport. 1 in Terminal C (American and United), and one in terminal A for Airtran and Southwest and another in Terminal A for the other airlines.

If you are arriving on Sunday between noon and 7 pm, you will see a greeter at the baggage claim with a sign “Welcome SMB/SIAM Folks”.  If you go to where they are you can find other conference folks to share a taxi or limo with to the conference housing. If you are arriving on Saturday or do not see the greeters, then go to taxi stand and ask if others for Brownestone or University Towers or write SMB/SIAM on a piece of paper to help others from the conference know you are looking to share a ride.

TAXIS
The Terminal A taxi dispatch booth is located on the curb near the Air Tran Airlines drop off. The Terminal C dispatch booth is located on the curb on the terminal’s lower level.  The fare to the Brownestone, Velvet Cloak or University Towers  for one person is $27, for two sharing the taxi $13.50 and for three sharing $9.

Limo Service
If a large group has arrived together, White House Transportation , limo service 919-782-5893 may be more convenient.  The limo can hold 10 people and the cost per person for 10 people would be $8.50.   for less than 10 people, price is as follows: $40 first person and $5 each additional person.

Public Transportation from Airport
Taxis are available at the airport for transportation to the hotel.  Please visit the Holiday Inn Brownstone Hotel & Conference Center web site and click on “Map/Directions” to find local directions.  SIAM also suggests you contact the hotel directly for any information about sharing transportation.

You can make your arrangements when you arrive at the airport or you can make them through Uniglobe Wings Travel or your own travel agent.
