Minisymposium Title: Metamaterials and Their Recent Applications

Minisymposium Description: Metamaterials are materials engineered to have properties that have not yet been found in nature. This mini symposium is devoted to recent progress on understanding properties of these materials and their applications. In this mini-symposium, the speakers will discuss various types of metamaterials for instance negative index materials, hyperbolic metamaterials, and seismic metamaterials and their applications such as superlensing, cloaking, cloaking via anomalous localized resonance. Different aspects of these materials such as resonance, localized resonance, stability, outgoing conditions, limiting amplitude principle are presented. Both theoretical and numerical aspects are covered.
